The need for data integration has increasing when users want to access more diverse information. It is important in many database applications especially application that involved with multiple source and data types. The key in data integration is the Schema matching that find semantic correspondences between elements of two schemas. This paper aims to find the best schema
matching approach for hydrology domain. To achieve this aims, we need to know the advantages and disadvantages of the existing approaches and whether it is suitable for hydrological data. Therefore, a comparison and evaluation between five existing approaches (COMA, SemInt, SF, CUPID, LSD and GLUE) in two decisive factors had been done. The result for this comparison of evaluation gives the combination between COMA, LSD and SemInt as the best approaches for MHIS data mediator. |
